Goodbye Old Blog Hello New Blog?
Okay,
this is my first post version three. This blog has been existing for
a while, first version as a review blog for some of the series I've
watched and second as a rant page disguised as letters addressed to
an imaginary friend [thanks to Beverly Cleary's Strider], but since
both of these versions were done in a whim and things such as rules
and goals weren't thought of before hand, I just felt one day that
what I'm posting here will get me nowhere. Totally nowhere.
Thanks
to the movie Julie and Julia, which I have watched recently, for
giving me the idea of writing a blog about something that I love
doing. I've actually thought about it before, but I can't really
decide on “which” hobby or past time to talk about. Since I love
reading and drawing, I've come up with the idea of making fan arts
and character sketches for all the books that I've read [and will be
reading]. And because I am not a dedicated blogger, I will set the
deadline of such posts every fourth Sunday of the month. This is just
the main goal for this blog so that I have at least one post a month
but sometimes, maybe, I'll be posting some pictures about other fan
arts (anime, manga, live-action series, etc.), cosplay pictures
(since I do that sometimes too) and some random memes.
Anyway,
I've made a calendar of what I'll be reading and will soon be posting
some fan arts of, here. It will definitely cross out a lot of titles
from my reading list and at the same time, will give me a lot of
practice for doodling [I know the term is not correct and it's
supposed to be 'drawing' but I think the term 'doodling' fits my
personality and my style more]. So, here I am, presenting my list...
April
– Eight Cousins [Louisa May Alcott]
May
– Anna Karenina [Leo Tolstoy]
June
– The Count of Monte Cristo [Alexander Dumas]
July
– Lord Of The Flies [William Golding]
August
– Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea [Jules Verne]
September
– Cyrano De Bergerac [Edmond Rostand]
October
– Shiosai [Yukio Mishima]
November
– The Scarlet Letter [Nathaniel Hawthorne]
December
– Twenty Years After [Alexander Dumas]
… and
so far I've only set the list for this year, 2012, since I'm also in
the process of gauging how loyal I'll be with this self -procured
challenge. The 2013 list will come once I'm halfway with the first
list and quite comfortable with everything.
One
book, one fan art each month-- challenge accepted.
P.S.: I just finished reading The Secret Garden [Frances Hodgson Burnett] but I don't think I'll be able to post a sketch on the 25th of this month so I didn't include the title in my list [The Secret Garden was supposed to be my March project]. Finals week is finals week.
P.P.S:
I bet nobody will be interested in this, but I have full bangs now.
The sudden decision to go to the hair salon is because my friends and
I have decided to join a contest- a dance contest- and we'll be
performing Perfume's songs so yeah, I have Kashiyuka bangs now... but
my hair is still wavy.
